Denial of service in Rockwell Automation 5380/5580 GuardLogix controllers allows remote authenticated users to cause a major fault. Crafted network requests to the controller task object encounter an improperly handled exceptional condition; Rockwell Automation has not disclosed the parsing or processing error. Low-privileged network access is required, and exploitation places the controller in a major nonrecoverable fault that interrupts service.
