CVE-2025-24358Network attack vector

Authenticated form submission via skipped origin checks

Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated May 1, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Gorilla Web Toolkit gorilla/csrf before 1.7.3 allows remote attackers to submit authenticated forms. The csrf.ServeHTTP middleware skips Origin validation and gates Referer validation on r.URL.Scheme, which server requests leave empty. Exploitation requires XSS on a subdomain or top-level domain plus an authenticated browser session, allowing unauthorized state-changing form submissions to a protected site sharing that domain.
