CVE-2025-24355Public exploit

Credential disclosure via unredacted Maven error URL

Published Jan 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Credential exposure in Updatecli before 0.93.0 allows local users to read private Maven repository credentials from execution logs. The Maven metadata retrieval error path formats a credential-bearing metadata URL directly into an error without applying redact.URL, while successful output is sanitized. A pipeline must configure a Maven source with basic authentication and encounter a failed retrieval; the exposed username and password or token remain readable in console or CI logs.
