CVE-2025-24337Public exploit

Credential disclosure via world-readable MySQL configuration

Published Jan 20, 2025 · Updated Jan 21, 2025

Credential disclosure in WriteFreely 0.15.1 and earlier allows local users to read MySQL credentials from config.ini. The configuration saver passes database settings to ini.SaveTo without setting restrictive permissions, producing a plaintext file readable by other users. Exposure requires a MySQL-backed instance on a shared host; the disclosed credentials grant read, write, and delete access to its database.
