CVE-2025-24311

Firmware data disclosure via unchecked block size

Published Jun 13, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in Dell ControlVault3 and ControlVault3 Plus firmware allows local users to disclose sensitive device data. Direct command-code invocation bypasses the host-side size check, so cv_send_blockdata XORs an attacker-chosen byte count past its input and exposes memory through a checksum oracle. Any low-privilege Windows user can reach the hardware; leakage is limited to stable adjacent firmware memory, while oversized reads can also interrupt the device.
