CVE-2025-24302

Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled recursion

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025

Uncontrolled recursion in Intel TinyCBOR before 0.6.1 allows local authenticated users to escalate privileges through local access. Intel has not disclosed which library routine recurses without enforcing a depth limit or how attacker-controlled CBOR reaches that routine. A local authenticated user must reach an application that invokes the affected library, and successful exploitation grants higher privileges.
