CVE-2025-24269

System crash via undisclosed SMB memory handling

Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 2, 2026

Memory-handling flaw in SMB in Apple macOS before 15.4 allows local users to cause a system crash through a local app. Apple identifies improved memory handling as the correction but has not disclosed the SMB code locus or unsafe memory operation. A local app must reach the affected SMB functionality, and the documented consequence is system termination rather than data access or code execution.
