Path-existence disclosure via insufficient sandbox restrictions
Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2026
Permissions bypass in affected Apple macOS releases before 13.7.5, 14.7.5, or 15.4 allows local users to test arbitrary path existence. The Installer component applies insufficient sandbox restrictions to path-existence queries; Apple has not published a deeper code-level mechanism. An app must execute on the Mac, and the bounded consequence is disclosure of whether chosen paths exist, not reading their contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
