CVE-2025-2424Network attack vector

Deleted-file metadata disclosure via unchecked bookmark reference

Published Apr 14, 2025 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Authorization flaw in Mattermost 10.5.0 through 10.5.1 and 9.11.0 through 9.11.9 allows remote authenticated users to read deleted-file metadata. The channel-bookmark store accepts a supplied file ID without rejecting FileInfo records whose DeleteAt value is nonzero or whose ChannelId differs. A valid session and knowledge of a deleted file ID are required; the exposed response is limited to stored metadata rather than file contents.
