Out-of-bounds read in CoreAudio across affected Apple operating systems allows attackers to crash an app via a malicious audio file. The MP4 parser fails to validate user-controlled length data before reading past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to open a file or visit a malicious page; the standalone result is app termination, while chaining can disclose information or execute code in the WebKit GPU process.
