Interface spoofing via email address injection
Published May 12, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 18.5 allows remote attackers to spoof the interface via a crafted email. Apple identifies deficient input validation in Mail Addressing but has not disclosed the affected field or exact rendering operation. Exploitation requires email processing and user interaction; iPadOS before 17.7.7 is also affected, and the documented consequence is interface spoofing.
