Privacy disclosure via Mail preview sandbox bypass
Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Jun 18, 2026
Permissions error in macOS Mail before 13.7.5, 14.7.5, and 15.4 allows remote attackers to load blocked preview content. The Mail preview sandbox does not consistently enforce the Block All Remote Content permission, so some previews fetch external resources despite that setting. A crafted message that reaches a preview contacts a sender-controlled server; the request reveals preview activity and, when IP hiding is off, the Mac's network address.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
