CVE-2025-24139

Information disclosure via unchecked ICC profile bounds

Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in sips in Apple macOS allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information through a malicious ICC profile. The ICC profile parser fails to validate user-supplied bounds before reading, allowing access past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file; disclosure is limited to data adjacent to the parsed buffer.
