CVE-2025-24097

File metadata disclosure via AirDrop permissions

Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 23, 2026

Permissions flaw in AirDrop across affected Apple operating systems allows local users to read arbitrary file metadata through an app. AirDrop applies insufficient access restrictions when an app requests file metadata; Apple has not published the affected API or operation. A low-privileged local user must run an app and induce user interaction; the reported consequence is metadata disclosure, not file-content access or modification.
