Installed-app enumeration via undisclosed Icons permissions flaw
Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026
Information disclosure in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 18.3 allows attackers with an installed app to enumerate apps on the device. The Icons component applies insufficient permission restrictions to app-enumeration access, but Apple has not disclosed the responsible API or operation. Exploitation requires an app to run on a supported iPhone or iPad and reveals the installed-app inventory without reported data modification or service interruption.
