Local code execution via use-after-free
Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Office allows attackers to execute arbitrary code locally after required interaction by a user. Microsoft identifies premature object-lifetime handling but has not published the affected Office component, object, or code path that reuses freed memory. Successful exploitation requires user interaction and runs code in the security context of the affected Office process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
