CVE-2025-24071Public exploitNetwork attack vector

NTLM hash disclosure via crafted library file

Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2026

Information disclosure in Windows File Explorer allows remote attackers to capture NTLM challenge-response hashes through a crafted library file. File Explorer processes a URL value in a .library-ms definition and automatically accesses an attacker-controlled UNC path over SMB. User interaction is required, and the bounded consequence is disclosure of reusable authentication material rather than direct account access.
