Security feature bypass via undisclosed MOTW failure

Protection mechanism failure in Microsoft Windows Mark of the Web allows local users to bypass security protections through a crafted file. Microsoft has not published the faulty MOTW code path or the incorrect operation performed on the file. A user must open the attacker-controlled file, after which the bypass evades trust labeling used by downstream protections.
