A TOCTOU race in Microsoft AutoUpdate for Mac 4.0.0 through 4.78.25022526 allows local users to elevate privileges. Microsoft identifies CWE-367 but has not published the affected component, the resource checked and later used, or the unsafe operation performed after the check. Successful exploitation requires existing low-privilege local access and winning the race, after which the attacker gains elevated privileges.
