CVE-2025-24032Network attack vector

User impersonation via omitted private-key signature proof

Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025

Improper authentication in OpenSC Project pam_pkcs11 0.6.0 through 0.6.12 allows attackers to log in as another user via a cloned token. When cert_policy is none, the certificate-policy parser clears signature_policy, so authentication maps public certificate data to an account without proving possession of the matching private key. Exploitation requires the affected policy, a token containing the target user's public certificate data, a known token PIN, and access to initiate a PAM login.
