CVE-2025-24030Public exploit

Configuration disclosure and process termination via path traversal

Published Jan 23, 2025 · Updated Jan 23, 2025

Path traversal in Envoy Gateway before 1.2.6 allows remote attackers with Kubernetes cluster access to read proxy configuration or terminate Envoy. The Prometheus listener accepts a prefix match at /stats/prometheus without normalizing the path, so dot-segment suffixes route to Envoy Admin endpoints. Reachability requires access to the in-cluster proxy service; exposed Admin commands can return configuration data or stop the proxy process.
