Authenticated file deletion via unsanitized fmErase path
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Path traversal in YesWiki 4.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete FPM-owned files through the file manager. fmErase concatenates the user-controlled file parameter with the upload directory and passes the resulting path to unlink without containment validation. Any authenticated account with file-manager access can remove files writable by the FPM user, causing data loss, defacement, or a wiki outage when PHP files share that ownership.
