Authenticated account takeover via unescaped attachment filename
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Jan 21, 2025
Stored XSS in YesWiki 4.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visitors' browsers via attachments. The showFileNotExits() method inserts the {{attach}} file attribute into an upload link without HTML encoding when the named file does not exist. Page or comment editing rights are required; loading the resource executes the stored payload, enabling password-reset token theft and account takeover.
