CVE-2025-24011Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account enumeration via login response discrepancies

Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Observable discrepancy in Umbraco CMS 14.0.0 through 14.3.1 and 15.0.0 through 15.1.1 allows remote attackers to enumerate accounts. The BackOfficeController.Login endpoint returns distinct failure details for locked, disallowed, and two-factor accounts and takes measurably different time for existing and nonexistent usernames. No authentication or user interaction is required, but repeated probes can lock an existing account after the configured failed-attempt threshold.
