Root command execution via malicious log filenames

Command injection in CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware before 1.7.3 allows local users to execute commands as root through log packaging. The /usr/local/bin/charx_pack_logs script builds a tar command from unsanitized filenames, letting names with --checkpoint-action become executable tar options. A valid local account with SSH access can create crafted files in a world-writable upload directory; requesting a log download then invokes the script as root.
