Stored XSS via missing settings nonce validation
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in PPO Call To Actions 0.1.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to store scripts through forged settings requests. A settings-update function processes state-changing input without correct WordPress nonce validation, allowing plugin settings to be overwritten with script content. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit a crafted page or activate a malicious link, after which the stored script executes in affected site contexts.
