Contributor-level script execution via stored XSS
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in NiteThemes Nite Shortcodes 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser. Patchstack has not disclosed the affected shortcode, input field, function, or code path, stating only that contributor-supplied content is stored and later rendered without safe neutralization. Contributor access is required to plant the payload, and exploitation requires another user to view the affected content, where script runs in the site's origin.
