Contributor-level stored XSS via insufficient output escaping
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Stored XSS in mikakaltoft Horizontal Line Shortcode 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into saved pages. The plugin insufficiently sanitizes stored input and fails to escape it during page output, although public advisories do not identify the affected parameter or function. Contributor-level access is required, and injected scripts execute in a visitor's browser whenever an affected page is opened.
