Stored XSS via forged settings request
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Shabbos and Yom Tov 1.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to store scripts through forged settings requests. The plugin's settings-update function accepts forged requests because nonce validation is missing or incorrect, then stores attacker-supplied script. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted link or page; the stored script then executes for visitors to affected content.
