Service interruption via deviceless-memory null dereference
Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025
Null-pointer dereference in NVIDIA Display Driver for Linux allows local users to interrupt service by allocating deviceless GPU memory. The nvidia-uvm UVM_MAP_EXTERNAL_ALLOCATION ioctl passes a deviceless memory descriptor to dupMemory, which uses its null pGpu field without checking it. An unprivileged process with access to the driver device files can cause a kernel oops and leave subsequent GPU operations hanging.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
