Local service interruption via crafted JPEG division-by-zero
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Divide-by-zero in NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit before 13.0 and nvJPEG before 13.0.0 allows local users to interrupt JPEG processing. nvJPEG processes a specially crafted JPEG in an undisclosed calculation whose divisor becomes zero; NVIDIA has not identified the responsible function or image field. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction and causes availability loss only, with no reported data disclosure or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
