CVE-2025-23272

Information disclosure or service interruption via crafted JPEG

Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in NVIDIA nvJPEG before 25.03 and CUDA Toolkit before 12.9 Update 1 allows local users to disclose data or interrupt service. The JPEG-processing path reads beyond an intended buffer when handling a specially crafted file, although NVIDIA has not named the parser routine or failed bounds check. Exploitation requires local access and high-complexity conditions and can disclose adjacent memory or interrupt the consuming process; the exact failure mode is undisclosed.
