CVE-2025-23216Network attack vector

Secret disclosure via unsanitized patch errors

Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Information disclosure in Argo CD before 2.11.13, 2.12.0 through 2.12.9, and 2.13.0 through 2.13.3 allows attackers to read secrets. Secret normalization leaves invalid data values and stringData content in generated patches, while error cleanup returns the map payload and the diff view without masking those values. Exploitation requires repository write access and a triggered sync; afterward, any user with Argo CD read access can see the exposed secret data.
