CVE-2025-23215Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Release key passphrase disclosure via packaged build properties

Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Apr 4, 2025

Cleartext secret exposure in PMD before 7.10.0 allows attackers to obtain release-signing-key passphrases from published jars. The Designer build exported project and system properties into designer.properties, packaging gpg.keyname and gpg.passphrase values. The jars are publicly retrievable, but the passphrases alone do not provide the private keys, and PMD reports no altered Maven Central artifacts.
