Arbitrary command execution via unneutralized user argument
Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated Jun 23, 2025
OS command injection in Shell-In-A-Box in Versa Director 21.2.2, 21.2.3, and 22.1.1 through 22.1.4 allows local users to execute commands. The shell-connect.py Python script passes the Shell-In-A-Box user argument to a system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A high-privileged local account must reach the SSH-session function; successful injection runs commands with the Director process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
