CVE-2025-23146

Kernel crash via absent optional GPIO array

Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux ene-kb3930 MFD driver from 5.10 allows local users to crash the kernel during device probing. The kb3930_probe function dereferences off_gpios to read its descriptor count even when the optional GPIO-array lookup returns NULL. Reachability requires probing an ENE KB3930 device whose firmware description omits the optional off GPIO array; the bounded consequence is a kernel crash.
