NULL pointer dereference in Linux 3.18 and later allows local users to crash affected systems during INT3402 device probing. int3402_thermal_probe dereferences adev without first handling devices whose firmware node has no ACPI companion. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and applicable Intel thermal hardware; the resulting kernel fault interrupts service.
