Phishing redirection via unsanitized survey field labels
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2025
HTML injection in REDCap 14.9.6 allows remote authenticated users to redirect survey recipients via crafted field names. The Designer stores an attacker-supplied anchor element in a survey field label and renders the label as a clickable link without neutralizing the HTML. A normal project user must modify an instrument, and the redirect occurs only when a survey recipient clicks the crafted label.
