Script execution via unsanitized URL-decoding tooltip
Published Jan 17, 2025 · Updated Jan 17, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Caido 0.45.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts by opening a crafted URL-decoding tooltip. The HTTP request and response editors place decoded URL data into tooltip content without properly neutralizing script-related HTML. A user must inspect attacker-controlled traffic and open the tooltip; script execution can expose sensitive data available to the Caido session.
