Improper source verification in IETF IPv6 version 6 allows remote attackers to spoof and route traffic through exposed 6in4 interfaces. A tunnel endpoint strips the outer IPv4 header and processes or forwards the enclosed IPv6 packet without authenticating the sender. Exposure requires a reachable endpoint that accepts protocol 41 traffic from arbitrary sources, enabling a one-way proxy, address spoofing, or private-network access.
