Improper authentication in D-Link DWR-M972V 1.05SSG allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the SSH service. The default configuration exposes SSH on LAN and WAN interfaces and accepts the root account without a password or configurable authentication. Network access to either interface grants unrestricted root command execution, including backdoor installation and access to router data.
