Authenticated command execution via debug JSON endpoint
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Command injection in GatesAir Maxiva UAXT and VAXT transmitter firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands. When debugging mode is enabled, the web management interface passes crafted input from an authenticated POST request to the /json endpoint into command execution without neutralizing command elements. A valid sess_id and enabled debugging mode are required; successful exploitation grants control of the underlying transmitter system.
