Authenticated file deletion via traversal path
Published Apr 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 3, 2025
Path traversal in OS4ED openSIS 8.0 through 9.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files via a crafted POST request. The Staff.php removal handler accepts a base64-encoded traversal path in removefile and deletes the resolved file outside the intended staff-file location. An administrator or teacher account is required; deleting Data.php prevents database access and renders the application unusable.
