Local code execution via uninitialized DOE pointer
Published Apr 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Uninitialized-pointer access in Rockwell Automation Arena Simulation 16.20.08 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via DOE files. The DOE file parser inadequately validates user-supplied data and dereferences an uninitialized pointer. Exploitation requires a legitimate user to open a crafted file, after which attacker-controlled code runs in that user's context and information can be disclosed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
