Incorrect default permissions in Intel Optane PMem management software allow authenticated local users to escalate privileges. Intel identifies the affected locus only as Ring 3 user applications and does not disclose which files or objects receive unsafe default permissions. Exploitation requires low privileges, high complexity, additional attack conditions, and active user interaction, and successful exploitation compromises host data and service operation.
