Stored XSS via unvalidated custom-header tag name
Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in BoldGrid Post and Page Builder 1.27.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via custom headers. The custom-header renderer uses the attacker-controlled bgc_heading_type shortcode attribute as an HTML tag name without restricting it to heading tags. Contributor access plus the Crio theme and Premium extension are required; the script runs when a user previews or visits the affected header.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
