Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in albedo0 Boot-Modal 1.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The Boot-Modal shortcode handler fails to sanitize user-supplied attributes and escape them when generating modal-link HTML, causing script payloads stored in a post to run when the page is viewed. Contributor-level access is required to create the malicious post, and a later page view executes the payload in the visitor's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
