Authenticated arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Mar 29, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in SoJ SoundSlides 1.2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place arbitrary files on the server. The soj_soundslides_options_subpanel() function accepts uploaded content without validating file types before storing it. Contributor-level access is required; code execution further depends on the uploaded file being reachable and executable by the web server.
