Root code execution via dangerous file upload
Published Aug 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 6, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SATO CL4/6NX Plus series before 1.15.5-r1 allows remote attackers to execute Lua scripts as root. The WebConfig interface accepts a crafted dangerous file and runs its Lua content with root privileges instead of rejecting the file type. The interface must be network-reachable; successful exploitation can alter printer data or interrupt printing.
