LocalSystem command execution via incorrect service permissions
Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated Mar 6, 2025
Local privilege escalation in RSUPPORT RemoteView Agent before 8.1.5.2 allows local users to execute OS commands as LocalSystem. A Windows service installed with the agent has incorrect access permissions, but RSUPPORT and JPCERT/CC do not identify the service or disclose the precise permission operation. Exploitation requires an existing non-administrative account on the endpoint and grants command execution with full LocalSystem privileges.
